About BlackWireNews

BlackWireNews is a wire service for newsrooms that cover the Black community in the United States. We publish original, download-ready news stories and license them to newspapers, broadcasters and digital outlets nationwide — so member newsrooms can run coverage they could not otherwise staff.

Every story on the wire is written for syndication: a tight headline, a clean dateline and full-length copy ready for print or web. Stories are filed by Lauren V Burke, whose reporting has appeared through Black Virginia News.

How it works

• The Wire. The front page carries a running list of stories, newest at the top. Anyone can read the headlines; downloads are for subscribers.
• Tier One — $950/month. Unlimited story downloads and free image portal downloads, billed monthly.
• Tier Two — $8500/year. Unlimited story downloads and free image portal downloads, billed yearly (saves $2,900).
• Single story — $249. Need just one story? Buy it outright, no subscription.
• NNPA members receive half off any plan — apply the discount on the subscribe page.

For writers

Contributors from Black Virginia News and independent newsrooms can file stories through our writers desk. Submissions go straight to the editor's queue, and writers can track each story as it is accepted and posted to the wire.
